Happy Halloween

I think this has been the longest I have gone without blogging ever.  Life has been great.  We have kept busy with lots of fun things like the cruise, which I think I will eventually blog about but I am waiting to get copies of pictures from everyone who went so I can post the best pictures.  So hopefully that will be soon.  After the cruise my main focus was planning for a Halloween dinner party.  I love Halloween and was excited to try and find some creepy but elegant food items to prepare for friends.  We ended up throwing a party for 12 and had a great night enjoying all kinds of food.

This is the table all set up before we ate

Dinner was roasted crow, brain souffle and vampire mash.  We started with a mushroom soup that had puff pastry on top to look like a spider.  I did not get a picture of the soup but it tasted yummy.

For dessert we had mummy pears, they were so yummy.  I am going to make these for the kids on Halloween, they tasted great and were pretty easy to make.

These next pictures were heading to Bryce's school for the Trick a door event.

Then for Saturday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch for a few shots on our way to the church party.

Cute pirate Kyle

This shot was so sweet to me, I turned back and the kids were all walking together holding hands so of course I had to get a picture of a sweet moment.

Halloween has been pretty busy, we have a school party at Bryce's school and then trick or treating on our street tomorrow night.  I think the kids are going to be on a week long sugar high, but I guess that is what Halloween is all about.
